all things 'forum'

Blimey. It's all go at Sleepydust right now. Record numbers of daily visitors (double our usual average on a couple of days), a huge increase in Emag subscribers, and a few more Forum members joining up...

... seems like all that hard work is paying off.

The Sleepydust Forum has been on my mind a lot these past few months. It's a very time-intensive feature to have on a web site.

I can understand why many sites choose not to have one, or why some forums are just poorly moderated. You wouldn't believe the amount of work that goes into keeping a forum running smoothly. I've never had to run one before and I'm quite amazed at how much time it takes up for both my forum team and for me (I'm working on the managerial & strategic aspects at the moment).

Unfortunately, spending time on the Sleepydust Forum, for me, is a luxury I can't afford if I am to devote enough time to all the other various aspects that come with running a large web site like Sleepydust. Thankfully Jo, my Forum Manager, is now taking over the daily aspects of running the forum and in that respect, I soon will be able to take a step back and focus on other things.

One thing's for sure - that Forum wouldn't exist if it wasn't for Jo and her fabulous Forum team. They're fantastic.

Right now I'm finishing up revising the Forum Rules, and then I'm hoping I can go back to focusing on the other aspects of Sleepydust that so urgently need my attention.

Still too many balls in the air for this ill and exhausted person I'm afraid.

The problem is also that I'm not well enough to work the hours a 'healthy' person does, so I don't manage to do so much. I have to make every second count. And boy do I make every second count...

More recently, Jo and I have been working hard on tightening up the forum rules. This time they will be much more detailed, which leaves no room for debate. I'm hoping this will ease the workload for the poor old Forum team who are trying their best to manage the ever increasing number of daily posts that are made on the Sleepydust Forum nowadays.

Yawwwwn. Tired.

Am going to bed. Nite nite (10am).
