2005-06-11 Nutritionist Visit - Cellular Detox & Crystals Today I had another session with Lesley Martin, my fab Nutritionist/Kinesiologist. Once again I learned a lot of new things, which I'd like to share with you. This session was based on 'cellular detox'; It seems that I am still harbouring bacteria, which is making me ill. There also seems to be a virus/some viruses that need to be treated... ... but if you think of my whole recovery program as being a series of layers that need to be treated, the virus/es are layers which are further down the line. The layer that needs to be treated first - or moreover, that is ready to be treated first, is the bacteria. So apparently my cells are harbouring toxins which are blocked. That is to say, the toxins can't get out. So in simple terms, this cellular detox is to let the toxins out, and then to carry them out of my body. Apparently I have chemical toxicity in my body - who knows where from - could be a number of possibilities. Anyway, Lesley (my nutritionist and kinesiologist) told me that a good antioxidant can help with the detox - someting like Selenium or Vitamin E. She finally prescribed me Vitamin E in capsules (by Biocare). [By the way, I am still taking the supplements she prescribed me last time I visited her i.e. the liquid iron, liquid CoQ10, and liquid vitamin b12.] She is going to order me some 'chemex', a homeopathic remedy that is meant to 'let the toxins' out of the cells, so to speak. And the other stuff, including the antioxidants, are meant to 'mop it all up'... She made up a tonic full of flower remedies (each of which she had tested on me using a muscle test to see how strong they made me), which is meant to help with 'moping up' the toxins in my body once they are released. If I'm overloaded, I am to stop all my other supplements and just take the flower remedy, vitamin E, and pure synergy, until I feel better. Something else that became apparent while she was doing the kinesiology muscle test on my arm, was that my chakra was really out of balance. Not sure what it's called, but its the one just below the navel. When she balanced it, I felt so much more.... grounded? There's not a term that would fit it well, but 'grounded' seems to best fit the feeling. I always feel that I just don't feel grounded - a little flittery - tired yet wired, I hope you know what I mean. It's a common feeling with CFS sufferers. And this chakra (an area of your body that channels energy) seems to be the root of it - or at least it makes a difference when it is balanced. So how do you balance it? Well Lesley told me that placing a few specific crystals on certain chakra points can be helpful to feel more grounded. Lesley recommended to place a Citrine and/or Tigers eye crystal on my tummy (below navel), to ground me. And to place a Chrysoprane (sp?) crystal and/or Tree Agate cystal on my chest (just below my collar bone). Apparently, even a plain quartz crystal will do. Another good grounding tool is Hematite - a heavy metal. Placing it at the bottom near your feet either when you are sitting or lying down will draw your energies down and you will feel more grounded. Or something like that anyway! You can also hold it. She said that if I was going to do the above, I should also place an amethyst crystal on my forehead, or if this feels too heavy, place it right above your head when lying down. Lesley also told me that I must rinse the crystals in cold water or place them in sunshine in order to clean them because they will pick up toxins/bad vibes (I dunno!) from my body. To clear the bacteria/infection I seem to have, Lesley recommended I do aromatherapy inhalations with Lavender and/or Tea Tree and/or Thyme essential oils. Direct inhalation (i.e. a few drops in hot water and placing your head directly over with a hot towel over your head) is best because it goes straight into your system (apparently). Another technique for this chakra (and for grounding) is to hold my hands on my tummy and to think of energy coming out from that point (like a blossoming flower or vortex - or thinking of a vivid orange colour). So there you go - chemical toxicity, cellular detox, and balancing chakras with crystals! The plot thickens...
