summer bliss - back again

These last couple of days have been beautiful weather-wise.

OK, I know it's boring to talk about the weather, but when there's sunshine outside, weather is NOT boring to us Brits! It's a bloomin' miracle!

Today, when I woke up and stepped outside into the garden, it felt like a dream.

How lovely it is to feel the sun on your face, and to see light so bright and wonderous that it feeds your very soul!

I had actually started to forget what a sunny day looked, felt, and smelled like!

That lovely blue sky, and that bright sunlight that makes all the colors so beautifully vivid. The green, green leaves on the trees. The birds tweeting chirpily and flying from branch to branch. The warmth of the sun kissing your skin. The cats 'toasting' in the sun...

It was around 20 degrees or so. Just the way I like it - lovely and warm, but not too hot and sticky.

But the PVFS/ME/CFS is always there lurking in the background...

... even sitting in the sun for a few minutes wears me out! 5 or 10 minutes outside and that was it - I was thoroughly exhausted, with complimentary dizziness and headache. Nice.

That, with the fact that I have very fair skin, makes me and the sun pretty incompatible at the best of times (although sitting in the shade is lovely too).

Alas, I could only go out for a couple of minutes at a time, not only because of that, and my symptoms, but also because my hayfever is starting to rear its ugly head...

By the time I have settled down in a chair outside, I'm sneezing like a trooper lol

Waaaaaaaah! I want to sit outside in the sun for longer - but even a few minutes is blissful. Perhaps because I can't sit out as long as I'd like to makes me appreciate it even more?

But oh its so wonderful, the summer, isn't it? Bring it on!

I'm armed with my tissues! ;)
