2005-04-28 having someone accompany you when you go out I think that when you have moderate-to-severe CFS/ME/PVFS, having someone to accompany you when you go out can definitely reduce your stress levels. The sheer fact that you know you have them for support both mentally and physically can really help, at least for me. I always feel more at ease (although not less tired or ill unfortunately) when I am with someone on the rare occasions that I go out. Before I had CFS/ME/PVFS, I used to like going out on my own - albeit a rare event. Unfortunately the most recent time I did this, I realised I was weaker than I had thought and that going out on my own wasn't a great idea - especially without a walking stick. And that was only for a short trip to the local supermarket (a massive event for me lol). Hopefully the meds will make me stronger so I can venture out in the summer months... I would like to be able to go out properly again (and enjoy myself/not feel ill/too weak) - even once or twice a month would be nice... When was the last time I went to the pub with my friends? I can't actually remember, it's been that long...
