a few local outings...

It's been an interesting couple of days. If you've been reading my diary for a while, you'll know that I hardly ever go out. So this week has been quite an exciting week for me.

First - although not exactly 'exciting', I finally managed to go to the doctors to tell him about the heart palpitations I had been experiencing. By that time, the palpitations had gone but I couldn't go when I was experiencing them as I was feeling so weak, exhausted and ill.

So I went, and, as expected, my doctor told me my heart was fine... a relief but not a surprise - I think that 'episode' was maybe something to do with a bug I had maybe? I'm hoping it was just an 'episode' and not a permanent symptom that will come back to haunt me. Hopefully it won't...

Then I managed to go round my friend's house to give her her birthday present. She only lives round the corner, but any outing for me is a real event. Even getting dressed and getting in the car can take its toll on me a few hours/days later.

But I was ok - I got up in the evening (yep - my sleeping hours are completely all over the place - as usual), stayed for about 3 hours (a miracle - I usually flake out after about an hour), and then went back home and straight to bed.

That for me was a major feat. I had great fun doing it and I wish my health permitted me to do it more often because I miss my friends dearly. So this little outing was a real treat for me.

A couple of days later - and after much sleeping, my family suggested I go with them for a meal. By that time, I had to admit, it probably wasn't the best idea that I went out, but I wanted to - so I did. Yes I'll probably pay for it in a couple of days but I'm glad I went. I had a lovely meal with them.

Funny - I go out so little now that seeing other people around me is fascinating to me now. Whereas beforehand I probably wouldn't pay attention, I now really notice people.

The restaurant was fairly quiet - no crowds - no noise. So I could handle it. I didn't feel so good on the way back though (the place was only 5 minutes away) and as soon as I got home I went to bed and slept for hours.

I just got up a couple of hours ago and now need to go back to bed. So much for a long-lasting good spell - but at least I had a couple of days where I could get out and about - even if it was local.

Fingers crossed my body won't pay for my outings too badly...
